Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!!

I hope everyone is healthy and doing well!  Today's meeting code and password is the same that it was yesterday.  That code will work for the meetings this week.

Today's Assignments:

AM Work and Wordly Wise: (20 min)

Stay current on the morning work, and for WW #15, please do D only.  We will take the quiz on Friday.

Reading: (30 min)

We are back to the choice board for today.  Your assignment is to read for 30 minutes.  If you are starting a new book, be sure to record a brief summary on Flip grid.  If you are looking for a new book, why don't you look through the videos that your friends made and see what looks good to read next.  Then you can go to Cobb Digital Library and use your school log in with your birth date (MM/YY) as your password.  Check out a new book virtually!
Or  go to http://www.cobbcat.org/librarypass/  Use your student number (it’s the same as your lunch number) and your PIN to login to the resources.

Writing: (20 min)

For the choice board, continue to do an activity that you haven't done yet.  Then, when you are done with that, if  you have the time, go to IXL and in Language Arts, do 5.P. 1, and 2.

Math: (30 min)

First I want you to start math by re-watching the video on moving decimals.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwjTUTUB2xw
Then go to Khan Academy and watch the assigned videos for today and do the problems too.  Then you can go to IXL and continue practicing those skills. with 5.Z.14 and 15.
We will talk about the math and how it is going today in our meeting.  If you have any questions, today's meeting is the time to ask.  We will spend our time today going over that.

Science: (20 min)

Science today will be in the class notebook.  I have an article for you to read and a graphic organizer to take notes in.  Oh! The answers for Friday's chemical/physical change power point are below.

From Ms. Bernier, School Counselor for Fifth Grade students:
Since my last post and prior to our unexpected break due to the Coronavirus, we covered many topics in the classrooms lessons I conducted that include Personal Safety; Empathy; Generosity; Service & Mentoring; Job Skills; Homework; Impact of Grades; Growth Mindset and Kindness.
Of course, we all prefer to continue having classroom counseling lessons in person. Since we can’t due to the quarantines, we will send social emotional lessons through the 5th Grade blog. Many will be PowerPoints that will have videos embedded. In order to view the videos, you will need to enable content.

While students are virtually learning, the Davis School Counseling Department is still available to support our students and their academic, social, and emotional needs. Mrs. Plomaritis and Ms. Bernier will be available for immediate consultation through email during virtual office hours Monday through Friday from 9:00-10:30. They will also be answering emails and concerns received outside of virtual office hours within 24 hours (usually much sooner).  If you find that your student/family is struggling emotionally, academically or financially during this time please do not hesitate to reach out to Ms. Bernier ( Kathy.bernier@cobbk12.org ) or Mrs. Plomaritis ( Alison.plomaritis@cobbk12.org ).  Many resources are included on our counseling website including information for those in need of food, internet or additional services.  You can find our counseling website on the Davis website under counselors or at this link http://www.cobbk12.org/Davis/counselors.aspx. Thank you and we hope to see you all soon!

Good Morning!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  The weather was perfect, except for the pollen, which covered everything!  Did you get a chance to play outside?  I mowed the lawn yesterday and  sat by the pool reading for a bit.  I'm reading a new book.  Look for me to post a summary on Flipgrid later today of the book I'm reading.

I have been receiving a bunch of communications from Mrs. Bernier and the specials teachers with stuff for me to post on my bolg.  I will do that in a second post today, so please look at that one as well.  It will have activities for the whole week.

For this week, I am adding IXL to our Reading and Writing.  Please let me know what you think after doing a few of the activities.  I'd like your input as we move forward with this.

See below for our Zoom meeting this week.  This week I put a password in place for added security.  The meeting ID and password will be the same all week.

AM Work and Wordly Wise #15: (20 min)

Below, you will see the answers for last week's morning work.  Please check last week's work.
Today's Wordly Wise #15 assignment is C only.  I will wait until Friday to give the quiz on WW #15.
😉😊

 Reading: (30 min)

Today we are going to try a few reading standards on IXL.  On the dash board, next to where it says Math, look for Language Arts.  That is where you will find the Reading and Writing skills you will be doing.  Today, you will do, in Language Arts, 5.B.1 (theme), 5.M. 1, 2 (analyzing literature), and 5. DD. 1 (shades of meaning).
You will be back in IXL for Math later, so you may want to keep that link open for yourself.

Writing: (20 min)

By now, you should have a good idea of what your theme, or big idea, is for your memoir.  Today, you are going to take some time to write a few small moment stories that bring your theme to life.  I have a few slides to show you and talk to you abut in today's meeting, but you may look in the class notebook, to see a few anchor charts, if you want to get started early.

Math: (30 min)

This week we will be moving on to metric units of measurement.  I will be continuing to have mini lessons during our morning meeting most days this week.  In addition, I have a few who want some more focused help, so I will have a math small group today as well.
Your assignments are in IXL: 5.Z.12 and 13 (metric units of length).
In Khan Academy, you will be learning about converting metric distances and practicing some problems.

Science: (20 min)

We will be exploring some changes together.  Some of these things you may be able to do at home if you ask a parent for help.  The observation sheet will be posted in the science section of the class notebook for today.  We will go through it together and I will demonstrate a few for you.  It should be fun!

Happy Friday!!

Week #2 of digital learning just about done.  What are your thoughts and feelings so far?  We have another week of digital learning and then Spring Break.  After the break, we have at least two more weeks of digital learning.  At that time they will evaluate and decide if/when we can go back to school.

Today's Assignments:

Wordly Wise and Morning Work: (20 min)

Wordly Wise #15 sections A & B.  There is no morning work on Fridays, so you don't have to worry about that.  I will post the answers to this week on Monday.  😄

  Reading: (30 min)

Read 30 minutes of a book of your choice. I have been keeping up with the flip grid.  Keep up the great work!

Writing: (20 min)

Respond to the book you are reading by doing a new activity on the choice board.  When we meet later, I will have a short writing mini lesson for you as well.

Math: (30 min)

Please go into Khan Academy and do the assigned lessons.  Then in IXL, I have 5.Z.10 and 11 for you to do as well.

Science: (20 min)

I have another PowerPoint for you on Physical and Chemical reactions.  This one is a presented like a quiz show.  Write your answers down and post them in the science section of the class notebook.   I will post the answers to the power point on Monday.  😊

Keep up the great work!!  I will see you at 11 for our class meeting and book club meets at 12.

Thursday, March 26, 2020

Thursday, March 26, 2020

Happy Thursday!

Good morning!  I hope you all are feeling well.  The spring weather helps make everything seem better, doesn't it?  Our meeting today is at 11:00, as usual.  😊  My Target friends should go onto the Davis Website and get to your Target teacher's page to see your instructions and activities for today.

Wordly Wise and Morning Work: (20 min)

We are starting on WW #15 today, so if you did not take the quiz on 14, please do so before moving on to today's assignment.  The link to the quiz can be found on yesterday's blog.
For WW#15, please make flashcards for your new words.
As always, please also keep up with the morning work.  I will post the answers for this week on Monday.

Reading: (30 min)

Read for 30 minutes today.  If you start a new book you can record a summary on flip grid.  I was watching the videos you posted about the books you are reading.  Half I loved and am so glad you are reading it, and the other half of the time I was jotting down names of the books because now I want to read that too.

Writing: (20 Min)

Do your choice board activity for the book you are reading and post it in the writing section of your notebook under today.    You can also free write if you have some extra time.  Keep a journal of what is going on and how things have changed.

Math: (30 min)

New activities in Khan Academy and in IXL.  5.Z.7,8, and 9.  If you are having a hard time finding this, be sure that #1, you are in the Math section.  And if you still not seeing it, we are working in Customary units of measurement.  Length (inches - miles), Capacity (cups - gallons), and weight (pounds).

Science: (20 min)

You have a choice between two activities today.  It might depend on what you have at home, but just do you best with whichever you choose.  Keep careful notes and observations of each step of the activity.  Be sure a parent is with you to lend a helping hand while you do the activity.
OK, guys!!  Have a great day and I will see you at 11:00!

Wednesday, March 25, 2020

Wednesday, March 25, 2020

Can you believe it is already Wednesday??  Plus it is looking to be a beautiful day out!

I saw some of the videos you posted for Bella and for the book you are reading.  You are doing a fantastic job!  Keep up the great efforts!  If you have not yet made a video for Bella, please do so.  I want to call her mom this afternoon and let her know that she should watch all of the video messages that you guys left for her.

Assignments for today:

Wordly Wise and Morning Work: (20 min)

I switched the order of assignments.  I figured that morning work should be first.  😄
I created a quiz in forms for you to take the wordly wise #14 quiz.  Scan the code below to take you to the quiz.  Do well!                                                                            Don't Forget about your                                                                                                                            Morning work!
https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=-x3OL5-ROEmquMR_D8kYLUJlQFuPTqVJmmcEKVasCOJUQzFNSlJXWVpGMk5LTzZFWUkwNlhUWE82Qy4u

Reading: (30 min)

You are reading for 30 minutes today.  You might want to read outside since it is nice.  Set yourself up on the front porch or spread a blanket on the yard and read.  If you have finished a book and started a new one, be sure to do a new flipgrid summary of the book you are reading.
When you are done reading...

Writing: (20 min)

Do another choice board activity for the section you read today.  Take your time and put the effort into your work.  There are plenty of choices, so don't repeat one if you have already done it this week.
Additionally, I have an excerpt from a memoir that I want you to read over and annotate.  Identifying small moment stories, big moments, and ideas that may relate to a bigger theme.  Copy and paste the piece in your own section and write your notes in the margins.

Math: (30 min)

Continue working on the Khan Academy assignments and IXL.  The IXL for today is 5.Z.4,5, and 6.  I enjoy looking on both sites and seeing your scores and how much you have done!  I also feel like I have not done much math in our morning meetings, so I will spend a bit of time on that today in our meeting.

Science: (20 min)

I have a powerpoint slide show that I want to share with you.  I think that I need to do it through One Note.  Look in the "Shared with Me" section to  find and open the slide show.  I will also try to attach it to the science section of our class notebook, under today's date.  Hopefully that will work.  There are a few questions at the end of the slide show, but nothing that you need to write down or submit to me.

OK!!  Keep up the good work!!!
Get outside today, but be safe!!!

I miss you!!  See you at 11:00.

Tuesday, March 24, 2020

Happy Tuesday!

Good Morning and welcome to class!  The meeting code for our meetings this week remains the same all week.  922 656 959.  In our meeting today, I will spend time doing a science activity with you.  I will demonstrate it during the meeting and afterwards, you will fill out the sheet.  I'm excited!  It should be fun!

So let's get started!!

*** I could not load the video on here.  I put it on the class notebook instead. ***

Reading: (30 min)

Reading will be the same all week.  You will read for a half hour and then choose an activity from the choice board to do.  Please choose different activities every day and post them in your Reading section of the class notebook.
Also, if you have not already, please record yourself talking about the book you are reading on Flip grid.  The code is the same as last week.  It will take you to my class and you will see where to record what book you are reading.

Writing: (20 min)

I will be conducting the writing mini lesson today during the early part of  our meeting.  Please take some time to reflect on a few of your short stories or seeds that you have already written this year.  I know not everyone has their journals, but you can still think about things you have written this year.

Math: (30 min)

We are continuing with Khan Academy and IXL.  The Khan Academy assignments are planned out for you each day.  I can see your scores and most of them are excellent!  Again, if you are not happy with your score, try the problems again.  If you need additional help, please ask!  I am here to help and even though I can't sit next to you to help, I can talk to you and show you things that may.
As for IXL, today, you are working on 5.Z.1,2,3.  I see that a lot of you went on IXL yesterday and worked till you got the smart score of at least 90%!  Keep up the good work there too!

Science: (20 min)

I will have a sheet posted in the science section of our notebook for you to fill out after watching the demonstration in the meeting.   I am going to do the demonstration for you.  I will also record it so that if you need to watch it again, you will be able to replay the video.   I have to mention: please do not try the demonstration at home!    Be sure that your parent is doing it and you may watch or assist them.

Wordly Wise and Morning Work: (20 min)

Today we are on WW #14 E.  Please be prepared for a quiz tomorrow on the wordly wise words.
Continue to keep up with the morning work packet.  I posted last week's answers yesterday and will do the same for this week.

Have a great day, and I will see you at 11:00!!
Stay Positive and Keep Smiling!!
I miss you!!

Captains log: Digital Learning date 3-23-2020

I hope you all are adjusting to our new normal.  With the nicer weather, it seemed much more bearable to be home all day long!  We have a new week ahead of us and new things to study and learn.  We will be doing a choice board for reading this week and learning more about Memoirs in writing.  In Math we will be converting units of measurement (US this week and metric next week).  In Science we will continue to work with physical and chemical changes.  I have a few activities to show you in our meetings this week.  Hopefully you will be able to see them.

Are you ready to start!!  Let's do this!!

The meeting code for this week's meetings is: 922-656-959

Reading: (30 minutes)

This week we are going to have some free choice reading.  I will set up another section in our flip grid for you to post what you are reading.  Give us a little summary of the book and read it for 30 minutes.  After you read the book, Choose an activity from the choice board below.  When you have completed the activity, put it in the class notebook so that I can check it.  😊

Writing: (20 min)

You will use most of your writing time to complete the choice board activity on the book you are reading.  I will also have a mini lesson on Memoirs during our meeting at 11:00 today.

Math: (30 min)

In Khan Academy, you will be working on U.S. customary units of measurement this week.  Each day there will be a video or two and problems to solve.  If you do not like the score on the problems, go back and re do the problems.  If  you want to re-watch the videos first, please do.  If you feel that you need more assistance from me, let me know, and I will put together a small group to work with me on understanding this concept.
The IXL today is on quads and polygons. IXL.5.BB.8, 9, and 10.  We will keep circling around to this as we will need to know it for volume in a few weeks.

Science: (20 min)

We are doing the brain check for the lesson we read last week.  Please post the answers in the science section of the class notebook. The brain check will be in there as well.

Morning Work/Wordly Wise: (20 min)

Today is WW #14 D.  Don't forget to keep current on the morning work.  Posted below are the answers from last week.

Friday, March 20, 2020

Friday, March 20, 2020

Happy Friday!

Congratulations!  We have successfully completed our first week of digital learning!!  So many of you have been diligent and kept up with your studies!  I have been checking in your notebooks and have commented on your work.  Please be sure to check previous work you've posted.  while it may not be a "grade"  there may be valuable feedback that tells you what you've done well and what you may still need help with.  Communicating through the notebooks is one way of "talking" one on one.
Keep up the efforts and the great work!  😊
Our Morning Meeting and Greeting is at 11:00.  The code is the same as yesterday.  976-112-978
Book Club meeting is at noon.  The code for that meeting is 640-045-746.  Since I scheduled it as a recurring meeting, that code will be valid each time we use it.

Today's Assignments:

Reading: (30 min)

Today is our last day with Esperanza.  If we were in the classroom, we would be doing something to commemorate that.  I actually have a few ideas... I will get back to you on that one.
In the meanwhile, I have a final quiz that I want you to take on Esperanza Rising.  It covers the entire book.  You, of course, may use your book to answer the questions.  For the last few questions, which are to be answered in complete sentences, yes, you must inclue text evidence to support your answer.  😊

Writing: (20 min)

Yesterday you had the opportunity to interact with two different memoirs.  Your assignment was to make notes about what you noticed about both of them.  You should have written your notes in your writing folder.  Be prepared today during the zoom meeting to discuss what you noticed about the memoirs.  The majority of our writing time will be devoted to that discussion and creating an anchor chart for memoirs.

Math: (30 min)

There are new assignments in Kahn Academy for you.  In addition, log in to IXL and do 5.BB.5,6, and 7.

Science: (20 min)

Today's assignment is to complete the reading for the lesson.  I have the pages copied for you in the class notebook, today's date, science.  Please finish the reading and do the Sum It Up.  You may post the answers to the Sum It Up in the science section of the notebook.  Monday you will do the brain check and submit you answers.

See you guys at 11:00!!

Thursday, March 19, 2020

Thursday, March 19, 2020

Welcome to Digital Learning Day 3!  AKA Thursday!

How many of you feel like you are getting the hang of this??  I am certainly feeling more comfortable with it, but I miss you guys!  Seeing you all yesterday was fantastic!  We will plan to meet daily (Mon. - Fri.) at 11:00.  The meeting ID for today's (and I think tomorrow's) meeting is 976-112-978.

Today is also a Target day.  If you are in Target, please go to your Target teacher's page and do the assignments there.  You may do any or all of the assignments I have here, but on any normal day, you would be in Target, so that is what you should do today as well.  😇   However, I do still want you to join our zoom meeting today!

Today's Assignments:

Reading: (30 min)

Please finish the big metaphors sheet from yesterday.  I have placed a copy of the questions in the content library, under today's date, on the reading page.  When we meet later today, I would like for some of you to be ready to share your thoughts on the big metaphors.

Writing: (20 min)

We are about to start a new writing unit on memoirs.  I have the power point slides that I will be presenting to you later today.  This unique point in history that we are in right now may be the basis for the next best-selling memoir in twenty years!  Will it be you that writes it??  Your job today is to read a few samples and excerpts of different memoirs and jot down what you notice about the style of writing on each of them.

Math: (30 min)

Legends of Learning continues through the rest of the week on Hierarchy of Quadrilaterals.  Kahn Academy has a unit test on shapes.  Please feel free to go back and review any videos from the week.  Also, remember that you can redo the questions as many times as you like to get the score you want.  The goal is mastery, not just to finish.  😁
I also have a challenge in the Math section of the content library for today.  I will post it here as well.  Each of the statements are true or false.  Rearrange the statements so that all of the true statements are on one side (Rock on!) and all of the false statements are on the other side (Clean Up Crew).  You can do the work in the class notebook, your math section.

Science: (20 min)

The legends of Learning has not changed yet, and most all of you have completed it.  Today's assignment is to read a few pages in the text and keep notes (make a T-chart) on Physical and Chemical Changes in your science section of Rodabaugh's Rockstars Notebook.  The pages to read are in the content library, if you have trouble accessing the online text book.  It is Unit 4, Lesson 3, pages 171 - 177.

One Quick Note:

If you are having trouble accessing any of the documents in the class notebook, try hitting the refresh button.  with so many people using it, pages won't update unless you refresh every once in a while.

See you guys at 11!!

Wednesday, March 18, 2020

Wednesday, March 18, 2020

Good Morning class!

Since we don't have our regular routine, let's make a new one!  I have created a zoom meeting for us.  It is scheduled for 11:00 this morning.  Here's how you join:  Go to https://zoom.us/join and you will see a screen that requests a code to join a meeting.  Use the code: 473-413-308 and then hit join meeting.  I can't wait to see you guys!!  Oh, Noah.  You are the quote of the week.  Can you find something good for this week that I can post and share with everyone?  Thank you!!

OK!   On to today's assignments and activities!  I will still post everything here, but I will also put a copy of everything in the class notebook.  I don't know about you, but I really like the class notebook!  I can see who added something very easily and you guys are all in the same place.  I am also able to distribute handout to you.  When you go to add an assignment or notes in to a subject in your notebook, please make a new page with the date of the assignment.

Remember, I am still getting the hang of working from home too!  The one thing that I have learned from this is to have a clear schedule and stick to it, just as if I were in the classroom.

Reading (30 min)

Yesterday's readings on the big metaphors was designed to get you thinking!  Today you have some big questions to answer on each of those metaphors.  I am not sure how long this will take you, but I want you to put your thought into each of the answers and as always use evidence from the story to support your answer.  You do not need to use the page #, but use a quote from the book as evidence to back up what you are saying.
In order for you to put the full effort into this assignment, I would like for you to do only two (The River & The Rose) of the big metaphors today and you can do the rest tomorrow.
In short, I do not expect you to finish the Reading assignment today.  You have both today and tomorrow to work on it.

Writing (20 min)

Most of you finished your two voice poem and submitted it to me.  If you have not, that needs to be done today because you are going to record your two voice poem on flip grid for me.  I will edit this post to include the link for my flip grid at about 9:15.  I'm super excited to see you all reading your poems!  You get to do both parts and be creative about it!  If you have a brother or sister that is willing to help, you can use them too.  :)
***Edit***  The flip code for my class is rockstar

Math (30 min)

There is a new playlist in Legends of Learning that will be active until Friday.  It is on organizing quads into a hierarchy.  That means that all 4 sided figures are quadrilaterals.  All 4 sided figures that have at least 1 pair of parallel lines are trapezoids.  All 4 sided figures that have 2 pair of parallel lines are parallelograms.  So in the hierarchy, quadrilaterals is on top, because everything falls underneath that umbrella.  Next comes trapezoids, and under that is parallelograms.  Below is a diagram of a hierarchy that you can use.
Kahn Academy has a new set of videos and activities on this topic for you to explore and do.
***NOTE***  You may do any of the practice questions over until you get the score that you want!  If you do not like your score, rewatch the videos and try the practice again.  Aim for mastery!

Science (20 min)

The Legends of Learning Playlist is still the same, so if you have already done it, you do not need to do it everyday, unless you want to!  Today's assignment is in the online text book. I have the pages for you, if you are unable to access the text.  We are in Unit 4, Lesson 2.  You are to do the Activity on how water changes and answer the questions in the science section on your notebook.

Morning Work and Wordly Wise (20 min)

Stay current with your morning work!  You will be able to check your work on Friday.
Wordly Wise #14 A only!

See you all at 11:00!!

Happy Tuesday!

And Happy St. Patty's Day!  Are you wearing green??  I am so proud of you all!! Everyone is working hard, I can see that you have been on Legends of Learning and Kahn Academy.  I am tracking your progress and you all are doing so well!  I also have been looking at your Reading and Writing work on One Note.  I have been leaving comments or stickers as feedback on your work.

I created a class notebook for us yesterday and shared it with you.  There is a section for each of you guys, even if I only have you for one class period.  Please look in your shared files for a notebook called Rodabaugh's Rockstars 2020.  Open it and write me a note in the collaboration space to let me know that you have access to it.  From there it might be easier to keep everything organized.

Today's Assignments

Reading (30 min)

As part of our conclusion to Esperanza Rising, I would like to look at the Big Metaphors in the story and see how they impacted the book as a whole and the end of the story.  Below is a guide to help you go back and reread the sections that contain the metaphors to fully understand how they impact Esperanza and the story.   Tomorrow you will use this to answer a series of questions as we conclude the unit.

Writing (20 min)

If you have not already, please finish up the 2 voice poem today.

Math (30 min)

In Legends of Learning, the play list has not changed.  You still have today to complete the playlist.  Kahn Academy has new videos and activities for you to complete today.

Science (20 min)

The playlist for science is the same all week.  If you did not get to it yesterday or did not get to finish it yesterday, you can spend time on it today.  Tomorrow we will get into the Online book.  Please try to log into the science book from home today to see if you have any problems.  This way hopefully we can resolve any issues before they happen!  😉

Morning Work/Wordly Wise (20 min)

Please continue to stay up to day with your math and edits morning work.  I will post answers on Friday so you can check.
Wordly Wise #14 Flash Cards today.
P.S. No spelling!  Just the vocab for now.

Last few notes:
I would like set something up where we can video chat or talk, so that if you have any questions or need my help, I am here for you!

Have a great day!!

1st day of Digital Learning Continued...

I am so proud of all of you guys for working so hard and doing your best to log on and answer everything at home!  If you need to be creative and use other methods than One Note, that is fine.  The system has been overloaded, so you may also be experiencing some issues.  Use microsoft edge, rather than chrome to get into O365.  That may help.

If you have already shared your notebooks with me, you do not have to share it every time you complete a task.  I will be checking the folders on a regular basis.  If I did not see your work/made a comment, please feel free to send me a message to check your notebook.

I still plan on creating a notebook for the class to share.  I have been experiencing some glitches there too, but I will keep at it until I get it.  Once that is going, it may be easier to do all of our work there.

The Science is not due until Friday.  If you want to redo the activities so that you get a better score on the assessment, I am pretty sure that you can!

The Math I think is due tomorrow.  Wed. you should have a new assignment in both Kahn and Legends.

I can see your progress!!  Keep up the great work!

Monday, March 16, 2020

Good Morning!! Welcome to our first day of Digital Learning!!

I miss seeing all of you!  I am going to try and look into something like "Zoom" as a way of being able to "talk" to you guys via the computer.  I know everyone has different technological materials, but maybe we can make something work.  😄

As a quick review, I will be online until 10:30 daily and can immediately answer your questions, concerns, and even just talk to you.  After 10:30, I will still be here for you, only my answers may not be as immediate.  I will check my e-mail and the blog at regular hourly intervals over the course of the day.  You can also use the Remind App to contact me with any questions.

You guys are expected to do about 2 hours of work each day.  Here is how we have split that up.

Reading

20 minutes of reading each day, followed by doing 1 activity on the choice board I will post below.  You will place your work in the Reading section of your One Note Folder.  Make sure you include the date.

HOWEVER, We will start the reading choice board after we do a few last things for Esperanza Rising.

Today's assignment is to answer the text dependent questions for chapters 13 and 14.  You can answer the questions directly in your One Note Folder, under the Reading section with today's date (3-16).

As always, you do not need to write the question, but you do need to answer in at least two complete sentences.  One complete sentence answering the question and another providing the text evidence for your answer, complete with a quote from the book.

Writing

For the next few days, I would like for you to work on your Two voice poem.  I am attaching the sheets here so that you can remember how to set it up.  You can use what you have already done, or you may change it up and do something new.  Today is a planning/drafting day.  I expect you to work on the writing for about 10 minutes each day.

Math

You have two different assignments to do in Math.  One is in Legends of Learning.  My teacher code is:

TEACHER CODE: RODABA1

You can log in and join the class, or use the log in I gave you.  If you join the class, please be sure that you use your name so I know it is you.

The other is in Kahn Academy.  I have a class set up and assignments all ready to go.  If you don't remember or can't find the log in I gave you, that is ok.  Send me a message and I will get it to you.

Math should take you about 30-40 minutes a day.

Science

I have activities set up for you this week in Legends of Learning.  It is the same code and log in as in Math.  Again, if you need your log in, just ask!  I will give it to you.  You have all week to work on the activities in Physical changes.

I know that this seems like a lot!  It really is not.  You can do this and I am here for you!!  Together we will take this time and use it to shine!!

***I know that a few of you have already set up a notebook for digital/home learning.  I am going to play with setting one up for everyone.  Look for that to come out today.

😎😊😇💪👍😉😁💁😄
