Happy Friday!!!

Enjoy the long weekend!!!

I did mention to the class that I wanted to give a study guide for our first Science test, coming up on Sept. 6th.  I was hoping to have it out to the class by the end of the day, but unfortunately, I was not able to.  I posted some of it here, it here in case anyone wants to get a jump on it!  😉  Don't forget, you can access your science text book from anywhere, using the link on the 5th grade website, or on my blog (posted earlier this month).

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Constructive and Destructive Forces Study Guide

Know the definitions for each of the following vocabulary words:
Weathering
Erosion
Deposition
Delta
Plate tectonics
Earthquake
Epicenter
Fault

Understand the following concepts:

1.       Deposition of sediments can change the depth of a lake over time. A student wants to make a model that shows how this process takes place. How would you create a model to show this using a beaker with water, sand, gravel, and dead plant material?

Practice Essay question:
6.  Jenna is modeling the movement of Earth’s plates.  She is using some pieces of foam and jello.  Write one paragraph to explain what each part of the model represents.  Think about our Faulty Food Lab activity, then explain in detail at least one plate movement and the land form that movement creates.
