Hope that everyone is having a terrific Thursday!  Tomorrow night is the neon dance!  Fun!
There are some other upcoming events to keep on the radar.  Next week we will have the Unit 4 Test in Math on multiplying and diving fractions.  Our next STEM Day is on Feb. 12th.  We have already started doing research on the topic and will be writing an opinion paper on a related topic next week.   Wednesday, the 13th, is the 5th grade Movie Night at Movie Tavern, thanks to Ms. Horner for organizing!!  And then Thursday is Valentines Day.  💕💟  We will do a small exchange in the morning before everyone switched for Language Arts.  I will have a breakfast treat for the kids. But "shhh!" Don't tell!

Wordly Wise #11 A & B
My Math class: page 1 of the study guide.
   **I will hold a Lunch Bunch Math Test Review on Monday for whoever is interested.

Happy Monday!  Snow Day Tomorrow!! ⛄

If school is cancelled for Wednesday as well, please check back here for additional assignments.  Meanwhile, enjoy the day off!

Please come to school prepared on Wednesday for the Esperanza Rising Mid Unit Assessment.  Be sure to have Chapter 9 read and the book with you.  📘

If you are taking the Spelling test on Wednesday, be sure to spend tonight and tomorrow night doing a choice board activity and studying.

My Math class has to finish the WS.  You can spend time practicing multiplying mixed fractions on IXL tomorrow.  We will be dividing fractions when we return on Friday.

Tonight is the Variety Show at Mabry!  I am sure that it will be wonderful!  I am sorry that I will not be able to make it. 

Graded papers are coming home this evening, so be sure to look over them.  Don't forget to sign the agenda and gold sheet!

Math IXL and WS (if you are attending the show, only do up to #5)
If you need to work on the spelling, please do one choice board activity.

Happy Tuesday! 

I hope you all had a relaxing and meaningful long weekend.  Now that we are back to our "regularly scheduled program," the busy schedules have returned!! 

This week we have the rescheduled Health and Personal Safety class and the Variety Show at Mabry Middle school to look forward to.  😎

Homework this evening:
Reading:  Chapter 8 of Esperanza Rising
Wordly Wise #10: E and Study for tomorrow's quiz
Social Studies: Propaganda Poster is due tomorrow and don't forget to study for the test!

My math class has this week to work on IXL.  Please work up to a 90% accuracy rate on 5.M.8,9,15, and 16.  In addition, please do a 5 minute warm up each day practicing long multiplication and long division skills. 

P.S. There is a chance that due to the Health and Personal Safety class tomorrow, our Social Studies test may be pushed to Thursday.  Please continue to study and prepare for the test tomorrow.

I handed out the first part to the Social Studies Study guide tonight.  It contains the important vocabulary for the unit.  The test will be Wednesday, January 23.

It is Tuesday!  That means that the Spelling Test, if you need to take it will be tomorrow, so be sure to do the last Choice Board Activity tonight and study for the test tomorrow. 

Other homework this evening is to read Chapter 7 of Esperanza Rising.  Use the WS I handed out this morning to set your purpose for reading. 

My Math class has a WS, other classes have IXL 5.M.15. 

Looking ahead, next week will be the WWI test.  I will hand out the study guide later this week.

I almost wrote 2018 on the title!  I cannot believe that it is 2019...Crazy!

Anyway, we are almost through our first week back and have wasted no time getting right back into the swing of things!!  Being Thursday night, don't forget to sign the agendas and gold sheets tonight.  Report cards will go home tomorrow afternoon. 

Homework for tonight is to read for 25 minutes and finish up the IXL for math.
